Areas of Expertise

Perinatal Depression, Anxiety, and Anger

Mood changes are common during pregnancy and in the postpartum year, but it can be hard to know what’s “normal”. If you’re worried about your mood(s), finding it hard to manage, or feeling like you’re just not yourself and wondering if you’ll ever find that person again, I can help. I am here to listen to and validate your experiences, and figure out what you need to live the life you want.

Pregnancy/Delivery-Related trauma, NICU experiences
Trauma is the result of experiences that are or that felt life-threatening for ourselves or our loved ones, feelings of tremendous fear, and loss of control. Having a baby (or babies) can be just like that. If you are experiencing intrusive memories, low mood, and/or a heightened sense of irritability or anger, you may be experiencing post-traumatic symptoms.  Processing traumatic experiences within the safety of the therapeutic relationship could help you find relief.
Parenting support, including parenting multiples
Parenting is hard! It can be so valuable to speak with a non-family member or friend about parenting challenges. As a parent myself, a former teacher, and child-development nerd, I would be honoured to be part of the village that helps you raise your children. I’m here to walk alongside you, to be a sounding board, a cheerleader, and a supportive guide, helping you to parent in a grounded, values-based way.
Perfectionism, Self-esteem, and self-worth
So many of us have been conditioned to believe that we are not worthy (of love, rest, peace) unless we are perfect, overachieving, and always-productive. For some, this begins as a protective coping approach, and as we move into adulthood, we find ourselves exhausted, and plagued by the sense that nothing is good enough, that we are not good enough. I am here to gently probe those beliefs with you, to discover their roots, to see if they are serving or hurting you, and support you to (re)discover your inherent worthiness.

Thank you for reaching out! I will be in touch soon to set up an appointment to talk more.
